π Abstract
This study assessed conflict resolution mechanisms and staff productivity in public administration, using Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State as a case study. The study was motivated by persistent workplace conflicts in public tertiary institutions and the need to determine how conflict management practices influence staff productivity. The data collected were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentages, mean scores, standard deviation, and rank order. The study is anchored on the Human Relations Theory. Findings revealed among others that negotiation, mediation, and formal grievance procedures are commonly used conflict resolution mechanisms in Auchi Polytechnic.
